Càirdeas

Hailing from central Scotland, Càirdeas (pronounced car-dis) are a lively, entertaining and highly accomplished trio performing Scottish folk music with personality, fun and an unforgettable stage persona! From traditional and contemporary Scottish songs to haunting melodies and electrifying high-speed reels, their music revolves around powerful vocals, traditional melodies and driving rhythmic accompaniment. Since their inception Càirdeas have enjoyed overwhelming success both at home and abroad. Originally formed for a tour of Switzerland, their list of achievements has quickly grown to include performances at British embassies, Caledonian societies, festivals and a notable performance for the organisers of Euro 2008 in Luzern, Switzerland.
Scots Magazine CD review "Autumn is the inspiration for Càirdeas as they dive straight into a reel, very typical of their lively, entertaining and above all spirited grasp on Scottish music - and that's exactly what this uplifting album demonstrates. With tunes and songs familiar and less widely known, this is a great CD with which to give yourself a tartan cheer up!" (June 2009 edition)
